We had a great time in The Netherlands. Edgar was really excited to go home and soak up his native culture again. It was fun to hear people say that he has an American accent while speaking dutch. Poor guy, in the U.S. everyone comments on his Dutch accent.
It was nice to spend time with his family: 3 grandparents, parents, brother and sister and their spouses, and two nephews and niece. As we flew home another niece was added to the family. We just missed her.
We also enjoyed going to Edgar's home church several Sundays. We were able to attend a community breakfast and a prayer meeting. The prayer meeting was really special, since this group meets every month and prays for us and their other 2 missionaries serving overseas. It was nice to share in person what we're doing and encourage them in their role as prayer warriors.
We also had appointments with individuals and families that have been faithfully supporting Edgar (and me) for many years. Some of them started when Edgar went to Doulos in 2001. It was a privilege to meet with them in their homes over a meal or coffee and hear how they are doing, see their children, and fellowship with them. We are so grateful and blessed to have these people as partners in God's work.

As our photos show, we also had some rest. I was excited to be in such a beautiful country, and enjoyed taking photos of all the places we went on day trips.
