URBANA 06

Between December 27th and January 1st I was at Urbana 06. This is the largest missions conference in the US (and probably in the world). It takes place every three years. This year it was in St. Louis, Missour. Around 22.000 people (mainly students) from all the 50 States, all the Canadian provinces and 140 different countries were participating.

Operation Mobilization had a booth at the missions fair (together with 269 other organizations). All of the people at the booth (14) were constantly talking to people. We had a conversation with them to hear their story. And after every conversation we prayed with them. In this way we got in contact with 350 people.

It was a very special conference with speakers from all over the world. It was good to see that God is still working around the world, but that there is still a need of workers. It was encouraging to hear during our conversatios that there are still people that want to go to places where the name of Jesus is never heard.

Celebrating the new year with 22.000 people is very special. There is a first time for everything.

You can read more about this conference on the URBANA website

Pray for our team as we want to contact all those 350 people in January.
